When I was young it seems I was sick more often than well. I remember once telling my grandpa that I wished I could just cut my nose off — I was so exasperated with my constant stuffy nose. I had had my tonsils and adnoids out, tubes in my ears, and my gallbladder removed. I was plagued by asthma and allergies, hospital visits, and regular medicaitons. I was unwell.

Later college years I read a book that began a lifelong journey. In that book, I first learned about the endocrine system and the dangers of processed and chemically treated foods. I began changing my diet, little by little, as I learned, and I began feeling better almost immediately. Since then (a full decade later), I have been ill only a handful of times — a stark difference from my first 20 years of life.

I’ve learned a lot since then. I’ve studied and tested many nutritional theories. I’ve had a personal trainer, joined gyms, bounced along to countless workout videos, explored movement, and achieved a black belt in Taekwondo. I’ve eliminated myriad chemicals from my family’s lives. I’ve studied and practiced Buddhism for a decade. I grow some of my own food and often forage for wild food.

I’ve read countless books, magazines, studies, and articles. I’ve listened to hundreds of hours of podcasts. I’ve studied psychology, herbal medicine basics, natural movement, permaculture, and anthropology. And I’ve integrated all of it into a whole life system.

It worked because I took small steps and learned as I went along. And I can help you do the same.
